Prof. Shen-Yang Lim is a Senior Consultant Neurologist and Professor at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he runs a busy clinical practice specializing in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders.

Prof. Lim has published extensively in these areas in major clinical and scientific journals.

He has been an active member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), being closely involved in multiple task forces and committees.

He previously served as Chair of the MDS Asian-Oceanian Section (AOS).

His main research interests include Parkinson’s disease, particularly genetics and genotype-phenotype correlations, evidence-based medicine and clinical trials, non-motor features including gastrointestinal aspects, comorbidities, patient-centred care, rating scales and disease staging.

He is also interested in Parkinson-plus syndromes and other rare or “orphan” movement disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).

Dr. Juan Darío Ortigoza Escobar is a Child Neurologist with particular expertise in paediatric movement disorders, including dystonia, parkinsonism, chorea, tremor, myoclonus, tic disorders and Tourette syndrome, as well as deep brain stimulation.

He completed his medical degree with honours at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay, followed by specialist training in Clinical Paediatrics and Paediatrics.

He subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Neuropaediatrics and a Doctorate in Medicine with distinction from the Universitat de Barcelona.

Dr. Ortigoza Escobar is actively involved in clinical research, with numerous scientific publications and presentations at national and international conferences.

He has participated in both national and European research projects and also teaches on the Master’s programme in Paediatric Neurology at the Universitat de Barcelona.

He is a member of the Spanish Paediatric Neurology Society, the European Paediatric Neurology Society, the Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

Dr. Salari Mehri is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Movement Disorders Specialist at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU), Tehran, Iran.

She leads Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) clinics at Shohada-e-Tajrish Hospital and serves as past Chair of the Movement Disorder Society (MDS) Middle East Working Group, current member of the AOS executive committee of MDS, and Deputy for Education in the Department of Neurology at SBMU.

She completed her MD at Semnan University of Medical Sciences and neurology residency at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, graduating with the highest score in the national board examination.

She subsequently undertook advanced training in movement disorders in Australia, Canada, the UK and Germany, including fellowships under Prof. Jog, Prof. Lang, Prof. Bhatia, Prof. Klein and Prof. Tabrizi.

Dr. Salari has published more than 200 papers, with research interests including the genetics and epidemiology of Parkinson’s disease, rare movement disorders and Huntington’s disease.

She established Iran’s Movement Disorders Fellowship programme and has received several national and international awards, including the gold medal at the MDS Video Challenge in 2019.
